With his new album Bird Ambience coming out this Friday, Masayoshi Fujita shares an evocative video for his latest single Morocco.
The motion picture was directed, shot, acted, edited and graded by Fujita himself. It shows the composer playing muted vibes, gently hitting drums and beaded cymbals with his bare hands in his new studio environment, interspersed with images of him and his instrument set amongst the surrounding landscape, and roaming through the dunes of a nearby desert in West Japan — evoking images of Morocco.
"The theme for this video is to visualise what I had in mind for the song, and also to visualise how I dive into the image that I get from the sound when I composed or whenever I play it."
