British artist Douglas Dare has announced an EU & UK tour for this autumn and shared his throbbing new single Three Roads, the latest to come from his fourth album Omni, out on May 10.
Three Roads is the thrilling avant-pop opener to Omni, setting the tone for the heady and richly visual LP to come. It weaves together different fluttering threads as a night owl traverses a city after dark and sketches out the people he encounters along the way. "Three Roads came to me when I was aimlessly wandering the City of London streets during the pandemic,” Douglas explains. “The office towers were all empty but still there were all these disparate characters, like me, also walking somewhere. I started to feel like a player in a video game, like being in Grand Theft Auto without a mission I could observe the game itself. All these other players with their own stories and all these possible streets we could turn down; ultimately though, we all had one shared objective, to get through the day, the pandemic, through life.”
The track comes with a live performance video recorded at Faith Restored Studio and filmed and edited by Alexander Atherton.
